Clams Pulao in coconut Milk

Clams pulao is delicious and flavourful rice.The rice is cooked with clams and coconut milk and seasoned with whole spices.This dish is complete on its own you don't need a side dish to go with the pulao.The most tasty dish which is very much enjoyed by us goans.

Ingredients:
๐1 cup clams without shells
๐2 medium chopped onions
๐1 medium tomatoes
๐1 inch ginger
๐5 garlic cloves
๐2 green chillies
๐1/2 tsp turmeric powder
๐1 inch Cinnamon sticks
๐4 cardamon pods
๐1 star anise
๐1 black cardamon
๐6 to 7 cloves
๐10 pepper corns
๐1 cup coconut milk
๐2 1/2 cup basmati rice
๐4 cups water
Method:
๐Soak the rice with water for half hour.
๐wash the clams under running water twice or thrice. When done remove it in a bowl add some salt set aside.
๐In a blender add in green chillies,ginger and garlic make a fine paste keep it aside.
๐In a pot add in oil add in cardamon, cinnamon, pepper corns, star anise,cloves let it splatter and give a good aroma.
๐Now add in the ground chill,ginger,garlic paste to the pot let it fry for 2 mins till the raw smell of the paste goes away.
๐Now add in the seasoned clams let it fry for 3 mins.
๐Now add in onions let it be translucent then add in tomatoes let it be mushy.
๐Then add in 4 cups of boiled water add in 1 tsp salt now add in the soaked and drained rice give it a stir, then add in 1 cup coconut milk add in 2 slited green chillies and handful of finely chopped coriander leaves
๐Cover the pot with the lid and let it cook until all water evaporates give it a stir once done and your clams pulao is ready to eat.
