A very easy to make and tastes very delicious dal matki/moth beans. Moth beans is a rich source of proteins, vitamins and minerals. It looks very similar to moong beans but its brown in colour and smaller in size.I have kept the recipe very simple, do try this delicious beans curry.
Ingredients:
๐1 cup moth beans
๐1 large chopped onion
๐1 large tomato
๐2 tbsp ghee
๐1 pinch asafoetida
๐6 to 7 curry leaves
๐1 tsp cumin seeds
๐1/2 tsp mustard seeds
๐3 slited green chillies
๐1 1/2 tsp coriander powder
๐1/2 tsp turmeric powder
๐1/2 tsp red chilly powder
๐1/2 tsp Garam masala
๐1/2 tsp chaat masala
๐handful fresh coriander leaves
Method:
๐Wash the beans twice under running water and Soak the beans in water overnight or for 5 hours.
๐Next day pressure cook the beans with 2 cups of water ,salt and turmeric powder.
๐Pressure cook it with two whistles keep it aside ,let it cool down.
๐To a hot pot on a medium heat add ghee,add in mustard seeds, curry leaves asafoetida and cumin seeds let their fragrance come out.
๐Now add in onions let it become translucent then add in green chillies and the tomatoes saute it for 10 seconds.
๐Now add in red chilly powder ,coriander powder,Garam masala and give it a stir.
๐Now add the cooked beans, little water, salt to taste, stir it well and let it simmer for 5 mins.
๐Last add the chat masala and finish it off with fresh coriander leaves and the dal is ready to serve.
๐Have it with rice ,chapatis ,naan ,it tastes very delicious.
