🧂 Ingredients:

  • 500g beef mince

  • 1 medium potato (boiled, peeled, and mashed)

  • 2 tbsp spice mix paste (see below)

  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped

  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 1 tsp vinegar or lime juice

  • 1–2 green chilies (optional, finely chopped)

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 egg (for binding + coating)

  • Semolina (for coating)

  • Oil for shallow frying

👩‍🍳 Method:

  1. Marinate:

Mix the beef mince with spice mix paste, onions, ginger-garlic paste, vinegar, and salt. Let it marinate for 30 minutes.

  2. Cook the mince:

Heat a little oil in a pan. Cook the marinated mince until dry and aromatic.

While cooking, add the mashed potato and mix well so it blends evenly with the meat.

  3. Cool & Shape:

Let the mixture cool, then mix in a little beaten egg (just to bind). Shape into small flat cutlets.

  4. Coat:

Dip each cutlet in beaten egg, then roll in breadcrumbs or semolina.

  5. Fry:

Shallow-fry on medium heat till golden brown and crisp on both sides.

  6. Serve:

Serve hot with lime wedges, sliced onions, and a dash of Goan chilli 🌶️ sauce or ketchup.

🌿 spice mix paste:

Grind to a smooth paste:

  • 1 cup fresh coriander leaves

  • 6–8 green chilies

  • 6–8 garlic cloves

  • 1-inch ginger

  • ½ tsp cumin seeds

  • ½ tsp turmeric

  • 2 tbsp vinegar

  • Salt to taste

  • 🌴And that’s it — your Goan-style beef mince cutlets are ready to serve!

  • 🌴 Best enjoyed hot with a ketchup or a squeeze of lime and a side of memories.
